# IN WHOLE
In summary, we have failed. The dead rise, the living grow corrupt. We lack a cure, thus some fall ill and turn, others die before turning.
The others and I have immense power, not that of gods. We are far less than them. Yet they still died, forsaking us. I am not sure what that says about us. None of us have died since elevation, I count that as a blessing.
After some years, the dead have remained the same. Two classes, both attracted to noise, the stronger averse to water. The corruption they consist of appears consistent with the powers of Vaelix, which we theorized in the beginning. A corruption, not a virus, or parasite. It seems those of divine blood are less susceptible, but it is a slim margin.
The people revere and worship us as gods. The very idea makes me long for death. I must be clear, we are not gods. The gods are dead, and we have taken up their power, but we are not divine. Even something as simple as creation is something we lack the power over. The gods of old could become invisible, materialize in places, summon things. We cannot do any of that. We can feel pain, bleed, and ache. All we have witness haunts me.
I’ve considered taking my own life, releasing my power, but the work we do now has much greater importance than my own mortal mind. The reestablishment is perhaps, the most important action we, or anyone, will ever take.
The people wish we could save them from the horrors of this new world. It is a sad reality, but it is reality that humans were not made to see this sort of calamity. We can do nothing to save them. The others and I are mortals with elevated powers. We are not omniscient or omnipresent, we are not omnipotent, we cannot hear prayers.
# FAR FUTURE
The thing that baffles me most, is the place between. We have yet to find out whether it was there before us, or created in the ascension. It runs like a river, everywhere, flowing, Yet stationary. It is the fourth plane. The first two, mortal life and death, the third being the godly realm.
